Welcome to the Institute of Seismology and Volcanology(Seismology section), Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. We are researching the physics of the Earth and monitoring regional seismic and volcanic activity in and around Hokkaido Island with 37 short period and 5 STS-1 seismic stations, 19 strainmeters and tiltmeters, Sacks-Evertson type strainmeters and same GPS stations. Gravity survey, electromagnetic observation and experimental telluric current observation(VAN method) are also actively investigated. All hypocenters and waveforms we ovserved are able to be transferred to your site using this WWW server. Right now we are cooperating with Russia, United States, Peru and Indonesia for the extensive understanding of global geodynamics.
